How many Euros have made it far, only to be rekt by a wrestler while they were in Contender or title fights? From Bas (which he got the robbery of the century vs Randelman) to Hardy and Ping, they all fell short vs the wrestler. The first one to break the curse was Conor, and TDD is definitely getting better in Europe (i.e. Gus), but the UFC still shields Euro prospects from elite wrestlers.

The EU is missing all the best fighter-producing countries except the Netherlands. Maybe if you're talking about Europe the continent and include Russians/Ukrainians/Caucasians it would be accurate.

Yes and no. Conor and Knucky are fookin' high ass level martial artists. Wrestling is a huge part of the sport and the best base. It's not everything, but it is a massive part. Watch Conor's fights before he learned to wrestle.
