Im 32, lifelong martial artist. I've been doing 3-5 Muay Thai sessions a week for the last 3 months. Each session is approx 2 hours of training.
Running, skipping, padwork, bagwork, sparring etc.
Over the last few weeks I've started to get a lot of tightness in my right Achilles area. It doesn't hurt a great deal, only a little, but there is a lot of tightness.
I have given it almost 2 weeks off as I've been travelling, hoping it would get better.
Today I went for a long walk, about 45 mins, plentypof warm up, and then started to do some shadow boxing.
As soon as I started bouncing on my toes I felt it tighten up and get sore immediately.
My fear is that maybe it is worn down from years of kickboxing training, and I'm close to destroying it.
Any ideas on what could be going on? Can provide more info if it helps.
It's going to be a week or two before I can get home to my doc/physio to have a look.
