Thug Rose talks about Mackenzie Dern

While her comments are very respectful and it's not some cheap attempt to build up an easy fight against and unranked challenger, Rose should not worry about Dern for another year or two. What's next for her fighters like Andrade, Gadelha or Karolina and it's questionable whether she'll still be the champ after going up against any of them. I could imagine Mackenzie climbing to those ranks in the future, of course, but it's way too early now.

I think it's worse than Tyron Woodley wanting to fight Nate Diaz, seriously. First time seeing champion challanging ranked 15 oponnent.

I WOULD LOVE TO WATCH.................. No downside if Dern loses. Big upside if it hits the ground and Thug wins. Though IF that happens its Probalby because Thug Rose knocked Dern stupid and got an easy finish. Still. Love to see Thug get this fight. Easy Money on occasion is fine with me
 
One defense and Thug is already looking for easy money.
 
Rose would punch her face off in 2 minutes into round 1.

It would be like Marcelo Garcia beating a Mark Kerr imo,which isn't toooo crazy.Kerr and Garcia were both get on top of you and go for an Americana style while just being huge and not super technical compared to the super technical players.Maybe not the best example but it came to mind.Gabi also submitted Dern I think 5 times while losing the once in basically a stalemate the entire time but don't quote me on that.

As for the thread not sure why some are acting like Rose is hunting this fight seems like it probably came out of an interview where she was asked about a potential match up.She summed it up well imo and was realistic about it all without talking any shit or making it look like she was looking for that fight at all.

I disagree. While I agree with Namajunas that this is a fight that should take place down the road, because Dern is still adapting to MMA, I see Dern as a tough out for a lot of the women at strawweight.

A specialist as dangerous as Dern can go a long way. Eventually she'll run it someone she can't get down and who won't be phased by her heavy but sloppy striking. Like Rose. But most chicks at 115 are going to lose to Dern.

Id like to see Rose smash her but she wont make 115. Cant teach discipline.

Dern must be happy Rose beat JJ

I don't think she beats Rose either, but JJ has gotta be the absolute worst matchup for her at 115

That TDD plus striking = tough night for Dern

Rose would probably rip her up on the feet horribly too but at least there would be an outside shot Dern could get it to the ground
 
Weirdly I feel like if they fought now, Dern would have a much better chance than 2 years down the stretch.

Rose got better with every fight, while Dern will most likely be WMMA's Maia (with slightly better stand up).
