"Of five rockets fired, three made a direct hit on the US embassy in Baghdad."

"The rocket fire comes two day after thousands massed in Baghdad in response to a call by populist cleric Moqtada Sadr for a rally to demand the ouster of US troops from Iraq. Around 5,200 US troops are in Iraq to lead a global coalition fighting the Islamic State group, but Iraq said the strike against Soleimani violated that mandate. Parliament earlier this month urged the departure of US troops from Iraq, which has been gripped by anti-government protests since October."

Reports there were injuries. Trump will probably shit himself and do nothing.

No reported injuries, according to the Daily Mail website. That said, it took a couple of weeks before we heard about US soldiers suffering Traumatic Brain Injuries during the first attack.

Or seize the chance to distract the public from his impeachment trial.

Do you even Wag the Dog, bro?;)

You're article says "thousands" of protesters, when in fact it was hundreds of thousands. When hundreds of thousands want you out and shoot rockets as you, maybe you should get back home. These soldiers are indoctrinated in thinking they are serving their country, while in fact they are an occupying force.

The soldiers are just doing their jobs, which is doing what they’re told.

Yes, and they are told to occupy a country, while probably thinking that they are doing good things, like protecting their country and bringing freedom to the world.

Edit : and they freely chose to enroll & to blindly do what they are told.

"Opinion: Iraq’s vote to expel U.S. troops is Iran’s true victory"

"Without firing a shot, Iran appears to have executed a devastating revenge attack against the United States for the killing of Gen. Qassem Suleimani. Using Iraq’s democratic process, Iranian-influenced members of parliament on Sunday voted to expel American soldiers from Iraq. With that, Iran may have effectively won the battle of influence in Iraq. This strategic coup de grace was delivered not by rockets or suicide vests, but by legitimate votes in a democracy built by the United States."

And if he does, I'm sure you'll post your full support for the poor Iranians.

It is not college, they don't enroll, they enlist. They do what they are told because that is called following orders. The U.S. military is not a democracy. You loose certain freedoms as a soldier or a Marine.

So we double down on the retard and stay?

That is what will happen. I'm not saying I agree with the decision. But, firing rockets at the US Embassy is going to motivate the powers that be to dig their heels in.

The images of protests and marches through the streets of Baghdad will have a Better chance od convincing the US to scale back.

Now, with the rocket attacks, it will cause us to be even more aggressive.

I wonder if anyone in Tehran thought of sending PressTV and a reporter from AlJaz to Baghdad to showcase 1,000 people holding hands encircling the US embassy while singing "Give Peace A Chance" in Farsi.
