Thoughts on my recent promotion to BJJ brown belt

I don't think you have a problem if you're still rolling with black belts.

Just relax and keep going! There's no shame in tapping.

congrats on the promotion. thats a huge accomplishment.

all that stuff about folks gunning for you...thats very true. i learned this 1st hand through my judo club. i realized though that tapping to a lower belt will only feed their ego. doesnt mean that shit won't happen but its something that they can go home and tell their wives and kids about and for them to revel in...it may be an ego thing. i think whats most important for you is to understand that even though youre a brown belt and youre blessed with a wealth of knowledge, youre still a student and will be for life. you might tap sometimes but that doesnt make you any less deserving of the rank youve received.

i felt the same way after receiving my first stripe as a white belt

congrats - Brown belt is a very high ranking...
In my country there is only one brown belt currently (Not hansen or Einemo)

congrats man. brown is big shit. anyway, im only a blue belt but i know what you mean with feeling a little pressure to perform. every now and then a whitebelt will totally try to take my head off too if an instructor is watching.
