Include Calzaghe, De La Hoya and Trinidad. Thats a pretty solid group. All should get in.

The 2014 International Boxing Hall of Fame class is likely to be one of the most star-studded in years with the three newcomers to the ballot -- multi-divisional world champions Oscar De La Hoya, Felix "Tito" Trinidad and Joe Calzaghe -- all figuring to be elected in their first year of eligibility.

Indeed a worthy group. I don't know shit about these events. Are the public able to attend? Is it always at the same place?

One of the events they're having this year us "A Night of Puerto Rican Pride" if there was a chance to meet Cotto it would probably be here. Unfortunately this is the same weekend he might fight Sergio (who is another constant visitor to the IBHOF)

If you're a fan and you can go, go. This is the 25th anniversary too. Might have a lot of big names there.

How many years can a boxer be on the holdover list before he gets pushed aside?

Two of the best things about living in upstate NY are the lack of natural disasters and the proximity to the ibhof. The place is gonna be packed to the gills, great year for nominees.

You're lucky. I had to drive 6 hours. Worth it though. It wasn't SUPER packed like it will be next year but it had a good number of people.

Not so well known fact, Ernesto Marcel's last fight was a win over Alexis Arguello.

Not a bad way to go out.

yeah it's good to be a boxing fan up here. I feel bad for all the people who live so close but don't even like boxing so they never care, then people who do care have to make a long flight or drive like you, which sucks. I'm sure a bunch of people will hear Oscar's name and just go for that, though. I wonder if Oscar will be off the wagon by June..... b/c if he is that would make shit a lot more interesting.

    Embarrassing

Prince Naseem dominated 126 for years (and did it in style), lost ONE TIME to a legend and somehow people got this notion he's not HOF-worthy. People just can't stand to see a guy succeed with a style that was so unconventional.

I'm all for him bettering his life and getting clean. But in case he isn't, and I run into him at Graziano's or something...... I'll buy him a beer.
