    a decade unbeaten at HW.
    18 lineal title defenses.
fought an average of just shy of 3 fights a year during his 7 year peak.

fought a peak hw division in the sport,

full of guys who are still knocking around in the top 10 a decade after its peak.

its so sad that guys like cain, who are truly great, just dont have the ability to live with that kind of out put.

    lol at lineal title defenses.

How many times did he actually defend his belt?

lineal title defenses at hw means a little more than conor style fuckeries. it means youre the baddest man on the planet. period.

it means any man any where on the planet, dude.

thats a little different than being the best shit boxer with decent takedown defense and a nice line in eating disorders.

in his prime: undefeated in MMA, undefeated in Sambo...

the man was a 2-sport world champion simultaneously.

so that's why he ducked the belt and refused to fight Overeem?

    Eh pride never tested. Easy to stay uninjured in those rules (;

Looked terrible in any league with testing. Merely observation and could just be a natural aging but still.

He fought the monsters of his time like prime CC, Nog 2x, Arlovski, Hunt and Arona. Why would he be afraid of the chinniest fighter of them all?

You tell me, its a fact that he didn't want that fight and his managers ducked it.

    Speaking of Arona

It was moronic to compare Cain to Fedor anyway. He never came close to surpassing Fedor, no HW ever did. He will be the HW GOAT for a very long time, if not the overall GOAT.

Oh, just stop with this GOAT and p4p shit. It's totally meaningsless and stupid comparing fighters over different weightclasses and era's. They are both awesome, why do you feel the need to put one over the other?

At the very least he's definitely the best heavyweight of all time.

Are you serious? He beat all the best heavyweights in his prime (other Couture maybe, but frankly Couture didn't have much of a chance). Was going to fight Overeem in the Strikeforce GP where he got eliminated early instead, definitely past his prime.
Can't think of any fighter Fedor ducked.

Fedor was a great fighter but can we really call a guy that couldn't make it through Strikeforce the best? I just don't see it.

In retrospect, the Werdum triangle doesn't look so bad now, but getting literally pummeled by Bigfoot and getting ok'd by a guy whose best success came at 185, does not make the best ever.
