Tony won't be able to take him down


He comes forward recklessly with his head in the air. I think I might pick Justin tbh
 
People sleep on Tony every fight. A surprising portion of sherdog voted for cerrone over Ferguson last fight. Not sure why
 
You should. But tony is really hard to count out and I think he's a lot smarter than people give credit for.
Justin hasn't exactly been striking with high volume guys. I think if tony can get out of round 1 he's gonna drown gatheje like EDDIEEEE and Dustin did. Hell Tony might attack the body hard due to justin's high guard. Teeps and a cheeky hook to the body with tony's lanky as limbs might help. But realistically Tony getting slept is very possible.

I agree that Gaethje might be his most difficult style matchup (besides Khabib).

But I don't think Tony needs to take him down to win. I think Tony can outlast him on the feet and win with superior volume, pace and cardio. The same way he wins most fights.

Exactly. And I love Gaethje, but let’s be honest—who are his best wins? He hasn’t beaten anyone on Tony’s level. I could be wrong, but I think Tony takes this one. He might have a tough first round, but he’ll eventually piece Justin up and either TKO him or sub him.

He always goes toe to toe and he s been in dangerous situations many times.Maybe because of that fans think that way

Especially when people pick against him in a stand-up fight against a less technical, less dynamic guy. I picked Pettis to beat him because i tought Pettis would be both too technical and too dynamic for Tony... wrong on both counts.

Ferguson's long limbs and pile driving punches and kicks, his razor sharp elbows, pressure, volume, are just too much for guys. And even if you hurt him, the guy immediately goes into Sonic the Hedgehog mode and rolls to safety. Justin has a punchers chance. That's it. Nothing to wager any significant amount of money on or place confidence in

No doubt I think Gaethe wins rd 1 and likely gets a knockdown or 2 as well. Tony goes down but has inhuman recovery - once Gaethe spends his full gas tank strikes Tony will own him..

Only chance Gaethe has is after a Rd1 knockdown - swarm Tony an hope it gets called a TKO..

Yes,I don't see Tony catching Justin or being able to take him down early. I think Justin kos Tony in the 1st. After round 2 though I think it's Tony's
 
if this is kept standing. tony has the cardio for sure. but its the chin that is questionable and the fight mileage. eventually the chin will get cracked. but probably not this fight.
 
I’m picking Tony to win but it is possible that Tony puts himself at risk, miscalculates that risk, and gets stunned and put out early.

It’s possible, not likely but possible....again, I’m picking Tony but I can see how it could go the other way.
 
I don’t put much stock into the whole “styles make fights” philosophy.

If a fighter is truly elite then he shall be able to adjust overcome and be victorious.

Too often people will say this fighter will do this or that, too good tdd, superior striker, etc. only for fight night to come and all that shit goes out the window.
