Couldn't find the thread with badass soldiers posted in it. This man clearly was a good egg:

Adrian Carton de Wiart: The unkillable soldier

Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart was a one-eyed, one-handed war hero who fought in three major conflicts across six decades, surviving plane crashes and PoW camps. His story is like something out of a Boy's Own comic.
Carton de Wiart served in the Boer War, World War One and World War Two. In the process he was shot in the face, losing his left eye, and was also shot through the skull, hip, leg, ankle and ear.
In WW1 he was severely wounded on eight occasions and mentioned in despatches six times.
Having previously lost an eye and a hand in battle, Carton de Wiart, as commanding officer, was seen by his men pulling the pins of grenades out with his teeth and hurling them with his one good arm during the Battle of the Somme, winning the Victoria Cross.

That was one helluva man. Words like tough and brave don't even begin to describe him.

His MOH citation is basically the last scene from the movie Fury, the one that everyone complains is unrealistic and stupid.

Finns are hard-core. There was another Finn who commanded a Special Forces unit during the Winter War. He was so good that Stalin placed a bounty on his head of several thousand Roubles. The head did not have to be attached to the body to claim the prize.:icon_twis

After the Winter War, this guy was still so pissed at the Russians he joined the Waffen SS and volunteered for the Russian Front. After the War he emigrated to America, joined the US Army and fought in Korea.

After Korea he was one of the first recruits to the US Special Forces. He went on to serve two tours in 'Nam before dying in a helicopter crash.

That's some crazy shit. It seemed like he didn't mind dying though.
