Dude bought a Pissaco Painting and isn't allow to take it out of spain and now has to serve 3 yrs in prison and has to pay 101 million dollar fine. He bought the painting in the 70s and Spain just up and declared it a national treasure and tells him it must stay in the county forever now. What kind of Bullshit is that. He owns it and should be able to do whatever he wants with. He should have BURNED the second they declared it a national treasure to tell them to fuck off.

Botín first purchased Head of a Young Woman, which is valued at $27.4 million, in 1977 in London. In 2015, the painting—which the Spanish Ministry of Culture had declared a national treasure, thus banning it from being exported—was discovered aboard the Botín’s yacht in Corsica, France. The octogenarian, who authorities say tried to sell the painting at Christie’s in 2012, claims he was simply transporting the artwork to Geneva, where it would be safely put in storage.

The harsher punishment comes after Judge Elena Raquel González Bayón was reportedly asked by the prosecution to review her original sentence. In her amended decision, the judge noted that “despite being fully aware of the administrative ban, the defendant transferred the painting to the schooner Adix in order to get [it] out of Spain.”

I'd be pissed too if I bought a Pissaco for millions painting and mistaking it for a Picasso

In monarch and socialist governments you really don't own anything.

But I agree with you, I would have burned it before I let someone tell me what to do with my own property.

You can buy a woman and take her anywhere but a painting must be left where it was painted what a crock.

This guy also found some Picassos in a storage locker he bought before the show was even a thing.

He's an octogenarian and they're gonna make him serve 3 years for that? Yeah that's not right. Surely they'll give him some kind of probation and call it time served or something like that. At least I hope so.

Remember The Reconquista? Spain don’t play.

the worst part is you cant even use chloroform on a painting.

$101 million fine? What a joke. I didn’t realize Spain was a banana republic, shaking down citizens to bank roll the government.

What a stupid fuckin rule. He can't do what he wants with his property? Sounds like an HOA (just kidding, I won't rehash that. Lol)

Sounds like the killdozer guy. Eminent domain LOOMS

So he's getting fined 101 million dollars for a painting that's worth 27.4 million dollars.

Okay then.

I would do some really violent shit if I was in his situation. Uber violence
