Then Al was super timid to get into any exchanges with Khabib from that point forward. He was in survive mode and defend takedown mode. That's why Khabib pieced him up on the feet ever since. He did not want to get taken down again. It reminded me a lot of Cain. They don't need good stand up!!! Khabibs stand up is terrible but if he establishes he can take you down at will, whenever he's not landing the more jabs, he'll just take you down. Khabib stand up doesn't have to be good with his style of fighting. It can be atrocious and he can still outland you because threat of takedown.

That shit didn't work against Werdum vs Cain, because not only does Werdum want to be taken down, he asks for it. He's better off his back than most BJJ masters like jacare or maia. And Werdum has better stand up than Cain. But Cain is very similar to Khabib. Just that grinding style where they can take you down at will and their stand up, altho bad is effective because 98 percent of their opponent fear the takedown...keep their posture and hands low while they land all night standing.

Jacare beat Fabricio though. I see what you mean though Jacare and Maia would rather take you down and be on top, where Fabricio seems cool either way. Jacare beat both Fabricio and Maia in BJJ. Maia also beat him too though, theyre 1-1

In a boxing match Khabib would get sparked out

Thankfully this is MMA and using the threat of your takedown is actually a good striking strategy

Jacare is the man!

Yeah but off his back Werdum I think is better than the 2....jacare and maia want to be on top most of the time.

He's in a lot of trouble with someone like GSP , GSP will stuff that shit all day & be the one laying the hump down on him .

Indeed, I can agree with that, he subbed Fedor and Cain both off his back. I think he beat Alistair the last time too, I wanna see Fabricio vs Alistair 4 lol. I used to call Fabricio the GOAT

I saw Al Iaquinta fight with no gameplan, no strategy and no hope, I don't know what he thought going into that fight but he didn't do a damn thing. Maybe he had a gameplan but couldn't execute it but he looked absolutely lost in there and had no idea what to do or what to try. Iaquinta realized pretty damn quick that being in there with Khabib was a whole different story than fighting the likes of Diego Sanchez, Joe Lauzon and Ross Pearson. hahahaha

overall your assessment of khabib is right. he typically doesnt need great striking because of his grappling threat. but i dont necessarily believe al was broken. i believe he doesnt have the striking tools to end khabib. he is a relatively slow striker and doesnt have good boxing mechanics. he looks like an MMA fighter when he strikes. also he may have been a bit tired due to being unprepared for five rounds.

if you ask me, khabib probably loses to tony who can survive just as well if not better than al. against conor, khabib better hope to allah that conor cannot defend and escape the way al can, because it wont last long on the feet at all.

Against a top tier striker he’d sleep

and kabooby still couldn't finish him.
lol. you just ripped your boy and didn't know it.
poor al was so broken and dominated he made it through all 5 rounds with that killer. haha

lol obviously watched a different fight than I did, Al looked perfectly composed on bottom..... didnt even look flustered.

if he was broken in the first 2 minutes, theres no chance he lasts 5 rounds..... unless you are saying Khabib cant finish a broken man? is that what you are saying?

Conor is licking his chops. So is Tony. Tony wins that fight last night. Khabib at 26-0 is still mostly untested.

yeah I cant stand Tony, but last night showed me he fucks khabib up..As does Kevin Lee... Eddie Alvarez and Nate Diaz

He's not my boy and I never called him a killer, why are you making ridiculous assumptions? Dan Hardy went all 5 rounds with GSP does that make GSP overrated? You Mcgregor dickriders get worse everyday.

Well, to be fair to Al, taking the fight on one day’s notice doesn’t exactly give him a lot of time to game plan.

He would Hold Nate down for the win IMO. But on the feet he is getting Stockton Slapped.

i could give two fucks about any fighter. really. who cares.
was dan hardy ranked outside the top 10
or a last minute replacement.
or training for a three round fight. probly not
apples to oranges.
not impressed with the sweaty russian.
like we have never seen a wrestler go five rounds because he doesnt have the tools to finish the job.
see clay guida, matt lindland, etc etc.

His stance showed his gameplan plain as day. He was in a wrestling stance.. Low to the ground to stop the takedown. He didn't have a lot of time to prepare, so was best he could do. AL was definitely out of his league but had the balls or need of money to take the fight against a guy he proclaimed in a video he wanted no part of, and that they would have to pay him a million dollars to fight.
