Obviously Silva will be fighting with his hands down, with a low center of gravity. This will not work though, Silva NEEDS the opponent to hit first and Weidman is only going to throw pitter patter Jake Shields strikes to set up his takedowns. Now the second Silva realizes his counter punching is being neutralized he will try to be the aggressor and that is just not his forte, this will just open him up to more takedowns and an ultimate submission in round 3. I know what you're thinking, "what if Silva catches him." If ifs and buts were candy and nuts. Anything can happen in a fighting, I'm talking pure strategy and most probable outcome here. Simply put, Weidman has the counter to Silva's counters.

Weidman is a stylistic nightmare for Silva and a big part of what makes this fight so interesting and unpredictable.

Weidman can clearly win this and has multiple ways to reach victory. However, most believe that standing and banging will result in a Silva win while take down to ground and pound will get Weidman the win.

Anyone who claims it's a sure thing or anything close to that is not being realistic about how dangerous both of these guys are.

the fight game is full of "ifs" thats why we watch the fight itself

if Weidman wins again..it's will be due to assclown shenanigans

I think Weidman is going to start clowning during the rematch, Silva will catch him and KO him.

along the lines of 'motivated BJ'........ if 'serious Anderson' shows up i expect something similar to this

way to ruin the fight for me mrs Cleo.

Anderson wins via flying knee

This would be hilarious. And then we would have to read all those double standards here on sherdog.

I agree TS, my thought is a second or 3rd round choke. Weidman is a bad match up for him, a wrestler that fights smart.

I love to bet on fights and what I love about it, is figuring out what is actually true. Did Weidman "catch " him? was Silva "not himself"?

I put money on Weidman the first fight and I already did for this fight. Too athletic, too young too good at Silvas weaknesses.

Weidman has just as good a chance at submitting Silva as Silva does at submitting Weidman. I think Silva wins this fight by (t)ko, and if Weidman wins it will be by decision

silva can capitalize on your so-called "pitter patter" strikes. the dude has incredible counters. he made easy work of okami's jabs, KO'd vitor from afar, KO'd bonnar while bonnar was moving back.

This is very true, and anyone who says either guy will definitely beat the other is talking shit, this is a genuine coin flip.

Considering that Silva's heart seems to be a lot less in it than 2 years ago and Weidman is hellbent on proving the first KO was not a pure shot in the dark miracle, that seems to be enough reason to safely bet on Weidman. I just wish all those who automatically assume that Anderson simply has to fight with his hands up this time and will automatically get the KO would just go away.

Riddle me this sherdog?
When he "clowned",yet KO'd Forrest/Bonnar/Okami/Franklin/Maia/etc he is the GOAT!!!! Amazing!!! The Best!!! But he did the same exact thing to Weidman and got caught with an incredibly lucky punch and all of a sudden Weidman dominated the entire fight and Silva sucks.Explain???

What if Anderson opens up with insane footwork keeping his distance and not engaging, then starts landing low kicks?

I think Anderson opens up with a completely different game plan given how the first fight went.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but "serious" Anderson showed up in the first fight. If any person believes otherwise is delusional. Your gif does look like the first fight a bit with Weidman KTFO Silva. Going to be sweet to see it again!!!
