I know the UFC likes it's ppv bumps from GSP and Silva, they may make 5% less this year because of those guys absence, maybe not. I hope not tbh, because the reality is WW and MW just got infinitely more interesting, and none of us know wtf any of the title fights at either weight will look like for the next 3-4 title fights, and that's a good thing. I would have liked that WW tourney to get the max out of that stacked division, but I guess the UFC has made it with that 2007 model and doesn't want to change anything. Fine. They still make great cards.
But even with no out of the box thinking (like a WW tourney) that would probably make them all the money back they are losing off the big two going bye-bye for a while, there is still going to be some really awesome and new style match-ups for titles at both MW and WW.
Bones seems to be coming back to the pack, like he is realizing that it wasn't supposed to be that easy. MW is going to have some awesome fights for the title, and to find out who fights for it (more so than previous years), and WW has about TWENTY (20) guys that could make a couple fight run and be a serious contender for a title shot, with about 10 I would really like to see get one.. WW also has a bunch of heavy hitters I think GSP was pretty lucky to get away from, you aren't going to do to Hector Lombard at 170 what you did to Dan Hardy :icon_neut
As long as they don't act to anal and uptight, and let the divisions flow and don't try and over control them with bland or predictable match-making, this year (and maybe next) will probably be the most interesting, especially for fans who know their MMA.
