Perhaps but has that kick ever actually injuried anyone? ACL injuries don't see to come from impacts but rather twisting motions in grappling or when someone is throwing a kick themselves.

My guess would be if Cormier were to suffer an injury in the fight it would be down to wrestling not Jones kicks.

I won't go as far as to "end his career", but I agree that if DC's knees aren't 100%, he shouldn't have taken the fight. Not for health reasons, but for 'fighting the goat lhw' reason.

Once he said yes, he's estopped from using it as an excuse.

A few things.

1. We don't know which knee is fucked. What if it's the back knee? It won't do anything if Jones can't hit it.

2. Front leg side kicks/oblique kicks to the knee will not cause ligament damage. It hyperextends the knee, similar to a joint lock i.e. a kneebar or armbar. This causes damage to the joint, not the ligaments. Ligament damage is normally caused by twisting like planting your foot down and having your upper leg twisted or a heel hook which twists your knee.

I honestly think cormier makes beating jon look easy.. range wont be a problem he will pick jon and and put back on the matt at will, jones better of some nasty submissions.
