What Aljo does is real grappling from a guy with decades of experience, what Cory does is just slopfest against one dimensional strikers.

Aljo actually passes guards and advances positions, he threatens with submissions which is why high caliber opponents are completely nullified.

I don’t think Sandhagen knows a single guard pass, he passively camps in guards, telegraphs takedowns against one dimensional strikers, and doesn’t have any serious submissions in his arsenal.

Cheers to Aljo.

I doubt you're good at grappling but I'll agree that Sandhagen is boring to watch.

Well I think position control is a legitimate way of winning fights.

Do fighters own you damage ?

It's a sport not Gladiators. Excitement and damage are a by product not the goal. The goal is to win.

In wrestling or bjj guys can do the same thing.

It's not boxing or Muay Thai.

This is where you are 100% wrong. You SHOULD be right, no doubt, to any normal human.

But the UFC and MMA in general has time and again proven that entertainment IS the goal and competitive merit is a secondary priority.

In the official rules it's described how to win. Nothing is said about having to be exciting. It's a sport and being realistic is #1. Two athletes go in, 1 wins. I watch it to see who will win, who is better. It's barbaric to only care about fighters getting hurt.

Stop using logic and reasoning. We're trying to make money.

Chandler freaking celebrated losing cause it was am exciting fight. In what other Sport did someone ever celebrate losing their match.

The only difference between the way Aljo and Cory win fights is Aljo wins via Backpack Split Decision whereas Cory wins via Lay n Pray Unanimous Decision. They’re both boring and awful to watch.
tonight would've been different if Font wasn't short notice. Appalling

Not sure about that. I don’t blame Font for the fight being crap. If he can’t stop a takedown it’s fine, but Cory willingly held him down for 5 rounds and landed zero damage.
That's my point. What would Sandhagen have done to a full camp Font..

Font took no risks in attempting to stand up, he kept over hooks all fight and held while Cory attempted to pass. The one time Font tried to go first and show initiative, he got stuffed and nearly Darce'd. Cory did what he needed to do while injured, Font took no risks so Cory did not need to either.

Wow this place really is 99% fucking asshole couch warriors lol.

The guy is one of the most exciting fighters on the roster and he has 1 borimg victory and ya'll become Aljo fans and start hating on him to the point of practically wanting to see him injured .

It's one fight it happens, fair whether fans the lot of you
<bball1>
War Sandhagen, a fighter isn't solely defined by there last fight contrary to Shertard ideology.

I missed tonight card cause I never miss a 209er. But AFAIK Corey is exciting as fuck. He really changed his career with one fight?

no one likes sandhagen so it doesn't matter. and yeah aljo fights are 100% better

Cory's camp was preparing for a wrestler.

If you listen to the commentators, Font has excellent defensive grappling and submission defense which is what kept Sandhagen from advancing position until the 5th round.

It was boring, but part of that is on Font to stop a freaking takedown attempt.

I'd like to know the outcome of Aljo v Sandhagen rematch... notice I didn't say I'd like to watch it.

When I scroll to the very top of this site it clearly states: THE GLOBAL AUTHORITY IN MIXED MARTIAL ARTS.

So, yeah... <DontBelieve1>
