Of course, if Khabib beats Max, he becomes the LW champ. We get that. But here is the kicker; there will once again be the excuses as to why he won. Things like "Max only had 6 days to prepare" and "Max is tailor made for Khabib."

Honestly, it is quite sad because Max is a legit beast, but Khabib will be given no credit if he defeats him because of the short notice and Max is a FW.

On the flip side, if Khabib loses, he will be absolutely ridiculed for losing to a FW, who is taking the fight on 6 days notice. Granted, everyone knows Max is extremely talented and as tough as they come, but that won't matter. All of the haters will flood the forums blabbing about how Khabib was finally exposed by someone who isn't a "can."

To me, this fight is truly a dangerouse fight for Khabib, because Max has nothing to lose. If Max loses, well, everyone was pretty much expecting that. If he wins, he is going to become legendary status and a two weight class champ.

When it's all said and done, if Khabib comes out victorious, I really hope people give him the props he deserves, because 6 days notice or not, Max is a stud and you cannot take that away from Khabib.

Except he gets the undisputed title, according to Dana.

He gets the belt, and then gets part of the ppv money. There's probably a lot of money for him to win.

He was the uncrowned champ for a long time now. This will just make it official. Haters can hate it won't matter.

No way. It's hard to imagine an MMA fan being dumb enough to undercut a win against a fighter as formidable as Max Holloway.

It'll be a great win for either guy imo. Just ignore the negativity. It's just a shame 1 of them has to lose

No, a lose-lose is either going home with a Boise Dime or going home alone.

It's a great win for either guy, but if Max loses a close fight it will understandably be argued "well, what would full camp Max have done?"
Taints Khabib's win a bit I'd say

agree some will say he didn't even beat a lightweight fighter to become the lightweight champion but it doesn't matter he will be #10

he's in a bad way if he loses though

it's not about money, it's about legacy
