Of course, if Khabib beats Max, he becomes the LW champ. We get that. But here is the kicker; there will once again be the excuses as to why he won. Things like "Max only had 6 days to prepare" and "Max is tailor made for Khabib."
Honestly, it is quite sad because Max is a legit beast, but Khabib will be given no credit if he defeats him because of the short notice and Max is a FW.
On the flip side, if Khabib loses, he will be absolutely ridiculed for losing to a FW, who is taking the fight on 6 days notice. Granted, everyone knows Max is extremely talented and as tough as they come, but that won't matter. All of the haters will flood the forums blabbing about how Khabib was finally exposed by someone who isn't a "can."
To me, this fight is truly a dangerouse fight for Khabib, because Max has nothing to lose. If Max loses, well, everyone was pretty much expecting that. If he wins, he is going to become legendary status and a two weight class champ.
When it's all said and done, if Khabib comes out victorious, I really hope people give him the props he deserves, because 6 days notice or not, Max is a stud and you cannot take that away from Khabib.
