This Effectively Ends Jones' Claims to GOATness

It is clear to anyone who knows anything about MMA that Jones would be an extremely mediocre fighter if he was not on massive steroids and if he did not constantly dwarf his opponents.

He has looked mediocre every time he faced someone rangy.

Imagine if Jones had lost to Fabio Maldobabo

At 42 years old, Jones will need steroids to just get his dick up, let alone find his way to a ring lol.

> Jon Jones breaks record for most championships wins in UFC history

> Sherdog claims that ends his claim to Goatness

{<jordan}

Imagine if Jones had tapped to strikes sometime in his career lol.

GSP fans are upset that Jones passed the record for the most championship wins.

Imagine that Fedor and GSP never did roids and fought in an era with virtually no drug testing

<{Heymansnicker}>

Umm... so if there was no drug testing..... then they couldn't have been cheating, right?

It's amazing that you people don't understand how stupid it is when you make this comment.

Jones got beat down most of the fight, definitely 1-3, and 4& 5 could've gone either way but id give 5 to Reyes...All those take down attempts by Jon & he didn't get a single one, in real wrestling Reyes gets points for the escape every time & Jon gets none...Reyes clearly won the fight, and Jones gets another gift decision...The two things that impressed me most in the fight were Jones' toughness for taking a beating & still stayed pretty strong albeit with low output, & Reyes' stamina for pounding on Jones all fight & still having enough gas left in the tank to finish just as strong as Jones did...the end
Saying that Reyes won the 5th is even more retarded than saying Jon won four rounds. Even he said he didn't win it.

This isn't pure wrestling, and what you're also forgetting/didn't know is that a takedown is worth two points, while an escape is only worth one. Still gives Jon an edge. The only time an escape would give a wrestler the edge is when the round starts on the mat with one guy automatically in top position who didn't get there with a takedown.

It’s weird Jones took down DC in 2015 kinda easy and struggled to take down Reyes. On one hand it could be the juice, the other it could be leverages because of similar size / Reyes skill. But Reyes got taken down by Volkan who DC completely rag dolled... It is very confusing. Jones used to look unstoppable in the grappling and since coming back is a weird kickboxer. Adesenya would absolutely give him problems based on this

So why does Jones look like such garbage if it’s still in his system?
It's not still in his system but he was reaped the benefits for years so he is still reaping the benefits of steroid use. He looked like shit because he got beat by a better fighter. Nobody stays on top forever

I doubt it.

This makes the third time he has been spanked, he has failed multiple drug tests, and is the biggest eye poker in the history of mma.
And there are still cucks out there that think he is the goat.

You are an incredibly silly person.

Even if he had lost this fight why would that do anything to his GOAT claim? All the other goat candidates have lost in much worse fashion than this fight

Even if Fedor roided why would that matter? Its not against the rules so you cant hold that against him. Thats like saying soccer kick wins in pride somehow count for less because that technique is illegal in the UFC

This fight was a robbery, purely and simply.

There is no way one can with a straight face give any of he first three to Jones without indulging in blind favoritism. Jones' last three performances since returning (3/4) have been the worst of his career. This only reinforces that his dominance was aided by external factors. He just hasn't looked the same since returning, and not because competition suddenly got better: Smith, Santos and Reyes were touted as some of the easiest fights in theory Jones should have had.

Santos and Reyes were touted as easy fights by people that don't understand fighting.

Fedor is the GOAT. Even in his diminished state with no chin you can see the shimmers of his old self. Clean Jones haven't shown a pip of prime, juiced Jones.

Juiced Jones is the GOAT - variety of strikes, clinches, surprising takedown attempts, master of range control. Clean Jones is reluctant point fighter that doesn't try anything spectacular, tried several takedowns, one of which was panic wrestling after he got hurt (and one of the judges gave him that round...), no clinches, no aggression.

Reyes got 1 and 2. Nothing too crazy but he was landing.
Jones got 4 and 5... and it was pretty clear.

3 is the toss up. could have gone either way. i'll have to watch it again without the commentary being biased against jones.

I like that everyone agrees Reyes won round 2, but the judges scored 2 for Jones.

How so? Out of those 3 only 1 was close (in no way a "robbery" since it comes down to your view of 1 close rd).

If I'm not mistaken every other GOAT candidate also had to overcome adversity at some point in their careers, (Silva and GSP actually losing as opposed to winning 1 debatable decision after nearly a decade of dominance), so I don't see how you've arrived at this conclusion I'm afraid.

Fedor didn't suddenly lose either, the writing was on the wall as early as Arlovski that he was slowing down and losing a step a few years before the eventual Werdum loss, Jon is closing in on the same point in his career Fedor was at and it's starting to take it's toll (especially with his lifestyle).

It's only a matter of time before he loses since father time and wear and tear from a decade spent at the very top of your sport (in unprecedentedly dominant fashion) combined with a less then ideal lifestyle catch up too you. There is and will only ever be one man who is seemingly immune to this but Jon, unfortunately for him, is not Floyd Mayweather and his time is coming within the next 3 years.

Plus doesn't he have a free pass to juice from the USADA or some shit like that or is that only the narrative when he's completely dominant? Lol.
