Think I got some spyware/adware

I was browsing the TUF forum and my browser kept redirecting to ask and some sort of search query. I have windows defender but no other spyware protection. I thought maybe it was an ad on the page or something.

Also, when I browse from work quite often the forum will load a new page and minimize and bring up whichever word document I have open. I think it's probably down to IE and a setting that is triggered due to the ads.

Anyone experienced something similar?

Can you suggest a good free spyware scanner?

 

Get adaware and try that, and if it identifies the name of the spyware let us know.

spywareblaster and spybot search & destroy are also good
