1. Large smart phones - I was one of those people that thought big phones were dumb. I used to say "It won't fit in my pocket, it looks dumb having this giant thing up to my ear, if I wanted a big screen I'd get a tablet..." Then I got big phone and love it.

2. Supersize Me - I saw this movie when it first came out and thought it was the dumbest thing ever. Well duh, of course eating McDonald's at every meal is bad for you. Nobody eats that much McDonald's. That's like trying to bench a thousand pounds and then when you get hurt or killed, it will "prove" that lifting weights is bad for you. I was certain that this film would fail, but for some reason everyone loved it, and Morgan Spurlock continues to get work based on its success.

3. Facebook - When this first started becoming popular, I was like "Wow this sucks. It's like a ripoff of myspace except you can't customize your page to make it look cool, you're stuck with boring blue and white. This will never catch on."

I was fairly young at the time but I remember thinking dvd's were dumb and wouldn't work out because they would just get scratched up like cd's and not play. Plus, everyone already had vcr's and wouldn't want to buy a DVD player.

Elaborate

he ejaculated and did not know what happened, so he thought he had something wrong with him.

I had teh same thing. Took me about 10 minutes to think "ooooh this is what they were talking about..."

Social media. Thought it was for nerds and housewives. Now everyone has a voice. No matter how stupid it is.

I thought the internet would always suck. This was back during dialup days when it took 45mins for a page to load and you'd loose connection if you farted too loud. Never would I think that years later the internet would be my go-to for everything from education to news to entertainment

Facebook, still can't believe it's as popular as it is now.

haha same here bro

Any serious batman movie. The character seems lame to me.

Edit: lame is the wrong word. Too cartoonish would be more like it

Green Day - when I saw the video for Basket Case, I thought it was the dumbest shit ever and they would never be successful. The album Dookie was a massive success.

Uber - who would want to ride in some strange person's car for a few bucks less when they could just hail a cab and be way more sure that the driver wasn't a serial killer, I thought.

Tablets. I now own two. I'm using one right now. In fact I use it so much I got carpal tunnel syndrome. So I was a little off on that one.

Also can't believe Ronda Rousey was ever a thing people used to cared about.

Squatty Potty. Shit is some type of magic

Redbox
Coulda bought a buncha machines and been the Redbox king of my town but I thought you'd go broke charging people $1 to rent a DVD
Late charges just never even occurred to me

When I was 13 I went to a local a Skate Jam (do they still have these). Anyone could compete. For my young ego, all I wanted was people to at least think I might be good. So when it was my turn to do a trick off the launch ramp I decided I was just going to kick the board and make it flip as many times as I could. I knew I wouldn't land it, but people might think "hmmmm, I wonder if he ever lands that trick. That kid must be pretty good."

So I hit the ramp, kicked out my board which did an insane amount of twisting and flipping beneath me, and then i just tried to land safely on my feet. To my utter surprise, the board landed perfectly under me and the audience erupted. One of the greatest moments of my childhood.

I thought Netflix would be a disaster.

Thought Twitter would die.

Thought Facebook would lose to MySpace.

I'd be a dreadful VC

Drake - whiny annoying voice, terrible lyrics. But shit if he isn't one of the most popular musicians right now.

MMA - thought it would remain relatively underground, but they've been neck and neck with soccer for awhile now.
