1. Stay humble no matter how big you are.
2. Any fighter can win on any given day.
3. Start looking for bets with huge lines like this in the future.

1) Valid

2) But most of the time as in this case, the most skilled well prepared and best matched to win again an opponent fighter wins.

3) Stupid

I learned to stick by my guns. If I would've called Holly by LHK like I wanted I would look like a genius. Instead I backed down for fear of being wrong.

I'm sorry that I didn't bet on Holly as I wanted to lay $100 on her winning but I rarely gamble and my damn truck has a 36 gallon fuel tank so I filled up my truck and simply wondered how nice it would have been to bet on Holly.

yea hindsight is great. But I'm really going to try and look at matchups more objectively and put in a bet when I think an upset could happen. I don't bet that much either.

Control the distance and control the fight. Don't back straight up (cough cough JDS cough)

Your three points just seem to say, "Holly got lucky." And the reason bets have huge lines is because they never pay out. The whole point of 20 to 1 odds is that you'll lose the bet 20 times before you win it.

What did I reaffirm tonight? That if someone fights intelligently and doesn't run at Ronda like a blind bull, they might actually stand a chance.

Appreciate fighters like gsp and Anderson silva now and lesser extent jones. It's really hard to dominate a division for years.

Don't buy into every Joe Rogan says.

This. Knew this before but after he repeats himself in every promo you almost get tricked into believing she is the greatest fighter to step into the octagon.

Why is 3 stupid? Holm was a solid fighter and the odds were ridiculous. I don't mean you should bet in every fight with lopsided odds but in this case it was a good bet. It's not just hindsight, betting on Gus vs Jones for example was also a good bet even if you lost, just don't bet on fighters with no chance like Bethe.

In theory, but there was a "study" a few years ago which showed in mma underdogs win more than their odds would predict. You need to be smart to differentiate real odds hyped odds. Since lines are dynamic a bunch of fanboys betting on the most popular fighter will give unrealistic odds.
