I wouldn't say this is a dislike exactly.....but I am completely over action scenes. Fights, car chases, shoot outs, whatever, I don't care anymore. I've seen it all 1000 times. I just browse on my iPad until it's over.

Although I watched Pineapple Express yesterday and the fight scenes were great, because they were intentionally awful.

    Love stories.

Nearly every TV show and movie has a love story that sidetracks the usually already interesting plot line.

Especially when every angle has been done and is predictable. Chemistry on screen is needed to be believable too and rarely is.

    Weak writing.
    No thanks.

I swear every show/movie tries to have romance. It was my biggest annoyance with Guardians of the Galaxy.

Pg-13 horror movies and basically everything to do with vampires after 2008. For other genres unnecessary remakes.

I love when movies have an absolute real feeling to them, the infamous bank scene shootout in Heat is a great example of this.

This is one of the things I liked about the movie 'Taken' when it came out. I don't remember the last no-nonsense action movie with no romance angle that I saw before that.

Super zoomed in, shaky cam action scenes. The car chase in the middle Bourne film was unwatchable.

    like:

    originality
    being ballsy
    realistic behaviour of characters
    humanist world view
    good humor
if its a coherent idea from one artist, instead dozens of people who all try to appeal to a different demographics all adding their own

    dislike:

dumbing down a complex topic so even a 6 year old understands it
    cliches
    jump scares
    bad humor
pretentiousness (which does not equal art film whatsoever. it equals wannabe-but-not-nearly-as-deep art films, benjamin button style)
trying to appeal to everyone, like forcing in a comic character for the kids/love story for chicks where its not reasonable otherwise

and you know what, I like longer films. If you have a really good idea, I would much rather see 2.5 - 4 hours of it, than just 1.5
