Im after a single weave or light gi with a really thick coller, any ideas ?

Regards

Ronin Brand has some of the thickest collars i have seen

^ I generally think you're right, but gi weight and thickness overall is not necessarily indicative of collar thickness. A friend of mine has a Howard single weave and its collar is thicker than any other gi I've rolled against at my school, which includes Lucky, Fuji, Kieko, Atama, Shoyoroll, KF, Vulkan, and Padilla & Sons.

The Ronin Fighter collar is in the center.

The Naja collar isn't as thick, but way harder to manipulate.

I actually did a survey a while back about the heavier gis for BJJ.

If you want the thickest and strongest collar, you need to go with a judo gi.

But I have a list of the thickest and strongest gis at GiReviews.Net. Check it out if you get a chance.

I dunno if I'd agree with this. I have worn multiple judo gis, none of them higher end, but the collars arent that hard to grip.

For BJJ gis, of the ones I've worn/tried. Gorilla fight gear is the thickest, but the best is killer bee. I don't know how/what they did, but it's medium thickness, hard and hard to grip. I'd wear the gi more if the skirt was about an inch longer and stayed in my belt. . .

HCK double weaves have thick collars. Collars with foam are thick but more pliable in my experience.

My HCK single has a thick ass collar. Looks almost like a double collar.

You couldn't go wrong with an HCK single.....at least a few years ago. Now they're more expensive, and from reviews I've read, lesser quality than they used to be.
