they thought this owl was a sign of black magic so they started singing religious songs to get rid of it but the owl just started dancing

i would have trolled that group by yelling CHAMA

They thought an owl was the sign of the devil? I can’t wait for witch burnings to start again.

Jesus, it’s like we’re living in the 16th century.

First I've heard of it. The Owl, in mythological/religious terms, is linked to Athena, the Greek Goddess of War, specifically it's strategic aspects. As opposed to her brother, Ares the God of War who concentrated on single combat and bloodshed.

I don't know of any myths connecting Owls to the Satan of Christianity.

In my Tribe, we were taught that Owl symbolizes Wisdom. They are apex predators that dominate the Night. They can see things when others cant.

I know some tribes believe other things, but i go with what i was taught.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the entire world’s population, mostly America’s, collective IQ has downgraded in the past 8 - 10 years from kind of dumb to fucking retarded.

So I don’t think history matters.

i heard seeing an owl is a bad sign.

and honestly? the night i seen an owl sitting across from my home, my bunny daisy had to be rushed to the vet and in the end, i had to put her down. so i'm sour on owls myself.

In some cultures it is seen as such.

It's not something I buy but years ago I (or whoever was driving) hit an owl in a vehicle. It was an unusual situation that I can't clearly remember. But I had to put my beloved dog down out of the blue a day or two later.

I read about owls and symbolic beliefs and yes one of the beliefs is that they are bad signs and omens of an upcoming death within 24 to 48 hrs for those perceptive enough to notice.

More recently I was walking to the front of the property I was living at in the dark to close the front gate. I froze sensing something was watching me and as I started to walk again there was an owl sitting on the gate. It flew off as I got closer. I thought to myself "that's unusual, I wonder who is gunna die this time?"
The following day one of my work colleagues the same age as me dropped dead from a heart attack.

I'm not sold unless it happens again, but it would appear this type of thing happens to a lot of people hence the belief.

Yes I like owls but don't see them often at all.

I see owls at the san gabriel mountains and they do that creepy 360 head spin thing.
