$100 is 5x $20.

There was no war when these were printed in 1934-35. They were used for bank transactions between Fed banks. But you're right in that they were never released in circulation.

What transaction of greater than $1,000 wouldn't be easier with a card, a transfer, an app, hell even a check. Something you can insure, cancel, etc...?
