None of this McGregor bs makes any sense.

You retire because you have an argument over a promo weekend you have to do? You pull out of a fight you allegedly begged for, for that?

There's something serious behind all this and we the fans are being held in the dark.

I saw Ariel speculating this had to do with the recent death of an MMA fighter in Ireland. That makes even less sense. I'm sure if McGregor expressed being traumatized by this recent tragic event, the UFC would have handled it very differently.

At least this meaningless fight is scrapped, for now.

All just speculations i'm afraid. But i think we can all agree this is not about a promo weekend.

Maybe he realized his back was against the wall, and the party's over.

The Nate fight showed him that he won't be that successful at LW, and he knows that Edgar would likely beat him at FW. Aldo would probably avenge his loss as well.

Better to quit now, while he's still ahead and with most of his reputation still intact.

So it seems Dana pulled Conor from UFC 200 because he did not want to attend the press conference and media. So it seems Conor was not planning on retiring. He is in Iceland training. But then what I think what happened is, he must have found out he has been pulled and thought to himself fuck it. I'm retiring.

I think right now he is just mad at Dana and the UFC. He was "obsessed" with this fight and for him to find out its not happening. He probably though well i'm gonna retire now.

Maybe he thought he was exempt because of his status. But the UFC denied him that. You have to show up to the pressers. Maybe he didn't want to go because he doesn't want to deal with all the questions regarding his loss. But that's apart of the game. Maybe it broke him mentally.

But I think he will be back, because he has spent alot of his money. He has a chance to make millions. I don't know if Conor is frugal enough to make the money he has now last the rest of his life. Maybe he can. But i'd think he'd still want to make more money still. So that he can really be set for life. He can still retire before 30 and have bank.

Maybe the worst use of this line I've seen.

Everyone was surprised, motherfucker.
with all the stuff I've seen happen in professional sports, I have my suspicions. Im not a blind fool to believe everything the media puts out. seems I touched a nerve though, you dont get to speak on behalf of Everyone.

the way he lost in 196, the way he got clowned at the press conferences, how he made a fool of himself with his mystic mac bs, the insincere retirement tweet... all that doesnt suprise me if something is up. The rematch made no sense to begin with.

Surprised that it occurred now? Absolutely.

But McG has occasionally placed very artful comments that he would get paid and get out - seemingly in his prime. This part does not surprise me. I don't think he ever had the intensions to be in the cage long-term.

No, I think that was just you.

He'll be back. As soon as the money runs out. Lol

Conor: "Give me a million to fight Diaz again!"

Lorenzo: "
No, you are not so hot anymore. We will pay you 100k +250k."

Conor:
"Fuck it. I am the biggest draw at UFC 200, I will not show up at the media stuff if we don't get an agreement."

Lorenzo
: "Ok, we pull you from the card."

Conor:
"WTF, did you really do that?? I will retire..!! you can't afford to lose me!! Damn you!!"

Lorenzo:
*shrugs* "Whatever"

If he were smart he would've accepted and fought for whatever millions he was supposed to make at 200 and then quit. Panic quitter.

If it comes out that it's because of a "Jon in Brazil" type situation, I will laugh.
