@TheWorm helpI've been a plumber in BC, Ontario and Alberta. Never heard of renting a hit water tank. Odd.

$939? For how long? Interesting.

That's not a bad deal. It'll cost you over $900 to get a new tank installed around here, so depending on type and fuel apparently renting them is a good option.

Yeah, 6 to 9 year warranty is standard. But having someone come out to inspect your tank and replace before things go sideways is of benefit. A couple bucks more for peace of mind, convenience and preventing water damage? Priceless! Not a bad hussle for everyone concerned I think. But after like 6 1/4 years he'd own it if he just paid himself $12 a month. However I do like the idea that you just don't worry about break fix. But many heaters will come with AT LEAST a 6 year warranty if they are any good at all.

Talk about a cheap bastard. This was an ongoing conversation over a month or so-I'm a cheap bastard and would probably try to do it myself.......and end up blowing myself up. So maybe $11.35 isn't a bad choice.
Yeah but I'm renting the water heater from the utility
