I thought it was late Fourth of July fireworks when I heard a boom just before noon today. Turns out that police and fire departments are responding to reports of an explosion about 3 miles from me. There is an auto salvage company in that area so I thought they could have had a gasoline tank explosion. The television stations have sent reporters but all they are being told by police is that it is a house explosion. It could be someone making meth or a gas explosion. The police suspect a gas explosion. One dead and one injured.

Not much left!

They have natural gas in the house ?

The Sheriff said they had propane and the propane tank was one of the few things undamaged. I think there might be natural gas available in that area. The street is the county line and it was a fairly rural area but it has been built up over the last 20 years. I don't know if the utilities have been run there yet. Just West of there is a fairly large housing development that probably has city utilities or the wells and septic systems would be very close together.
