How does the situation being played out make things better? Give them more time to establish themselves and take more ground? They are not taking more ground, they are losing ground. The only thing they can pull off at this point are terrorist attacks. Militarily, they've pretty much been beaten.

Boots on the ground, at this point, wouldn't accomplish much. Most likely it would only have the opposite effect. They want to provoke the West to actually invading the Middle East once again, so that they can pro-long the conflict.

Who attacked the USS Cole? What about 9/11? Richard Reid? There were Al Qaeda attacks all the time prior to our invasion of Iraq. Jamat al Jihad was around in Jordan going back the the 90's. That was Zarqawi's group that is now ISIS. So no, the invasion of Iraq didn't "create" anything.

Excuse me but your claims don't hold an ounce of truth there are Islamic countries in Asia, Uzbekistan/Tajikistan/Turkmenistan,Kyrgyzstan,Indonesia,Bali,Singapore (Malaysia), Phillipines etc are all those countries up in flames being taken over by warfare ? Perhaps the statement in the TS is not literally correct, but because the world is not on fire does not mean that Islam is a worthwhile ideology.

I think people, including me, have lost sight of the forest for the trees and have begun to rail against Islam as if it is the only variable at play just because we are not happy with the current globalization efforts. The problems in the Mid East cannot just be hand waived as being only Islamic, but that doesn't mean that we need to erase borders and all hold hands and sing hymns.

I'm catching myself becoming unbalanced, but that doesn't mean that my position of being anti Global Capitalism isn't valid.

Indonesia....one of the great "moderate" muslim countries people hold up as an example of just how wrong islamaphobes are. A country where women need to get virginity tests before they can join the military. A country where 72 percent of muslims want to make Sharia law the official law of their country. A country where "only" 7 percent of muslims (around 14 million people) believe suicide bombings are often or sometimes justified. A country where 93 percent of muslims believe a woman should always obey her husband. The list goes on and on. When this is one of the better countries you are arguing for, you may be on the wrong side of the argument.
