It’s like expecting to meet a 6’6”, 80 year old man.
It’s not happening.
Men who did combat in a cage or a ring do not have long lives
Mma fighters , even less so far.

why is that?
Other than the obvious.
Genetic, social construct or nature?

I've met Bart Vale a few times, dudes 65 and 6'3, he's still gotta be every bit of 230lbs...He looks bigger than that even. Super high in energy and doesn't seem in bad health, I didn't think I'd like the guy but he was a fun guy to be around.

Ron Tripp isn't massive I suppose but he's still around and doing well, I think he's one of the head guys for the US Judo commission now. Tripp is 70 now?

Give it time, some fighters, by virtue of being fighters are incredibly healthy people and will age well. Randy Couture still gets on the Mars and coaches.

MMA is a new sport. Its oldest legends aren't that old comparatively speaking. But Dan Severn is in his 60s and a lot of other OGs like Ken Shamrock, Royce Gracie, Bas Rutten, Don Frye, Tank Abbott, and Mark Coleman are pushing 60. We'll see.

Severn looks to be in great health still, Bas too. Ken, Frye, Abbott and Coleman less so. Hendo looks to have gotten fat and aged rapidly recently too.

Chuck being an MMA fighter has nothing to do with his abuse of drugs and alcohol, other than he had more money to spend on it,but he could have been a rock singer and did the same shit.

Also not everyone gonna eat punches to get one in like Chuck did. He relied on his chin for far too long.

Brain trauma conditions are a difficult thing to spot unless it is dramatic, which it often isn't; that doesn't mean it isn't affecting them or won't be affecting them in the future. Chuck is an example of dramatic effects of CTE; the guy sounds like his mouth is full of peanut butter when he talks. Poor Chuck.

There is a lot to the concept of knowing when to quit. GSP did, but Chuck, Anderson, Fedor, Shogun, Penn, and a bunch of others didn't, and will pay the consequences if they aren't already.
