He knew it he wouldn't make the cut. his health coach pretty much gave us the excuse from day one. But Max still gets to save face because he showed up. He seemed a little too excited and unfocused for a guy who was about to fight a monster.

He's like that because there's nothing to be worried about at all, he's a fighter he's taken a beating before. Other than that it was an everything to gain nothing to lose situation.

to be honest there's been a lot of sketchy shit going on.

I cant tell if the ENTIRE thing was scripted or just some of it.

He seemed to be very upbeat and happy at 180lbs though!

Always nice to see Max "Blessed" in the pressers.

Max doesnt come across as an attention whore. he's got Hawaii chill vibes. i'll give him the benefit of the doubt

This was all part of the plan to bring more attention to the UFC since UFC is dying. Fake shit like this and money fights that make no sense are the only things keeping it relevant. They paid Conor to do this and it’s all to promote future Khabib/Conor fight.

I'm curious, What do you think was scripted? If anything was scripted it was tony not fighting. IMO

Something seems weird. Ariel alluded numerous times on MMA Hour, on Twitter and on The Beat that he had an extreme amount of weight to cut. He was hinting it might not happen. He tried to make it very clear.

Everyone was saying Max was a hero, a true fighter, a legend.... all this bullshit. I think it hurts his image. Gets so much credit for "moving up" in weight, when in reality he weighed more than the guy in the weight class above him.

Naturally, Max and his team will never be truthful about the weight cut. They'll shrug it off and lie and do everything they can to put the blame on the commission.

Just seems like an incredibly irresponsible thing to do. It changes my opinion of him.

There's no way he was making that cut if he was truly 185+ when the UFC called him one week out. No way.

He was at 159 when the commission stopped him. Didn't even get a Drs opinion first. Just made the call based off looks at that point. He had hours left to cut and said he could finish it with ease. It was bullshit he was gonna get paid

I can't help but agree. It's tough because I really do like max and i think he's an excellent fighter, but if he KNEW he couldn't make weight they should have just asked Eddie Alverez instead. Tony fucked it all up, But max Just... ravaged the whole entire card. what remained of the card anyway after a dolly through a bus window...
