It's been an absolutely atrocious year...or I'm just getting older and losing interest. Many of the fight night cards have been so bad that I've skipped them altogether, or I just went back afterwards and watched the 1 or 2 fights that were mildly interesting.
Either way, the overall interest in the sport has seemingly waned quite a bit. From the lack real stars, to the lack of big fights, to the consistently weak cards, it seems like an apathy has fallen over the sport. Hell, even Dana appears to have checked out.
The only real memorable moment this year was Alex losing to Ankalaev. Aside from that, the only newsworthy happenings were champions vacating their belts (Ilia and Islam), the Jones-Aspinall nonsense, and Dana being M.I.A.
