Izzy beat Gastleum, he also beat Rob so Izzy 100% won the title fair and square however would you still like to see Gastleum and Whittaker go ahead at some point, maybe to get a shot at Izzy again or maybe just in general you'd like to see the fight?

As we know Rob and Kelvin were supposed to fight when Izzy was fighting Silva which Izzy then took the main event while Kelvin had to sit and watch after a whole training camp and flying to Australia to be told at the last minute he's not on the card must have been very frustrating.

Of course no one can or is blaming Rob, it was a genuine situation due to unforeseen circumstances but I kinda wonder how much interest is still out there for a Gastelum vs Whittaker fight?

Nah, both need to fight new contenders to defend their spot in the rankings.
I think it's bullshit that the Champion drops to #1 ranked when he loses the title, back in the days they used to drop em like 5 to 10 places and they had to work their way back up.

Divisions are getting stale and stagnant even though UFC has more talent than ever, how can that be? Shit matchmaking & rankings is the answer.

No one doesn't. Unless it's for some obtuse reason like 'don't kill off contenders by letting them fight each other'.

Yeah, I was just looking at the LW after you said that where Dan has moved up 8 places and Al has dropped 2, that seems much better.

    Al is 8th, Dan 7th.

I'd like to see Gastellum vs Cannonier

Edit: Totally forgot KG was matched up against Till.

I agree, but we all know that rankings don't mean nearly as much as they used to.

Would love that fight. I guess there's no immediate rematch for Rob, so let's wait for Gastelum to bury Till, then this would be a great match. Then you make Till-Jack.H / Cannonier vs loser of this fight.

Timeline won't make sense for Jared. He is one win away from a titleshot.

Considering they both fought and lost to Israel...then yes the fight makes sense as it has no happened yet. I also really fucking dislike how Gastelum says Whittaker Robbed him of the opportunity...meanwhile how many fights has chubby come in overweight???

I would still like to watch it for its entertainment value but in no way should it be for a number one ranking.

Of course. I've become a Kelvin fan via seeing him KTFO his opponents or at least drop them. Whittaker on the other hand seemed cocky after he got the belt and acting like it was a forgone conclusion he'd KO GSP and his coach saying he's better than GSP.

I didn't watch their TUF season at all.

Most champions who just lost seem to get rematches these days which is even worse.

LOL GSP fans always find a way to make it about GSP.

No but Rob was acting a little uncharacteristic leading up to UFC 243.

Would not mind seeing that fight, but i like the idea of Cannonier vs. Gastelum/Till winner next. That can be a potential number one contender fight to face Adesanya/Costa winner.
