That crap shouldn't happen at heavyweight. When a heavyweight has both feet planted on the ground and squatting down like that, especially with low insertion tree trunks like Mark Hunt's, an ordinary human should not be able to pull both legs out from under him when their is no momentum behind the takedown.

That should not be possible. But because its Brock Lesnar, that crap is possible. If Brock really honed his technique, NOONE would be able to come close. This guy is beating people purely via donkey kong. If he actually even remotely developed technique, he would be the apocalypse of the heavyweight division.

The fuck? Brock's a two-time NCAA All-American.

Him doing that in the third round was a thing of beauty, and true grit...

I was impressed.

I don't think Brock's biggest weakness is his wrestling.

Did you see any resemblance of NCAA wrestling in there? No. That was pure donkey kong.
He's technically not all that bad, but his approach to fighting is more brute force than actual technique

Here's a funny Brock photo just for fun

Huh? In the first round Brock got a single leg and created motion running the pipe and took Hunt down. In the third he tried the same but switched off to a double. It's simple technique that is drilled over and over again that gets the job done. Brock's wrestling is legit. It's a combination of strength and technique.

Many of his problems stem from lack of real fighting experience.

I agree on that TD analysis. It looked very awkward. He was taking down Hunt similarly to Overeem when he was trying to take down Ariel during that interview.

I wish it was Brocktober every month.

Brock broke the rules of physics with how he elevated Hunt to complete those takedowns

However, he hasn't evolved much since his pro debut imo and I'm not sure if he is capable of doing so at this point

" Angle also mentioned what Lesnar lacked in technique, he made up for in athleticism" This was re: their backstage wrestling match that was talked about for a long time. Supposedly, it went for 15 mins and Angle had the only takedown but it was a tight match. So yea, he might not be the most technical, but it doesn't mean a damn thing when you're the human equivalent to a silverback gorilla

He even did the same thing to Cain, that was the second TD I believe. But Cain being the animal that he is himself was able to pop right back to his feet after he got taken down.

Brock's takedowns are amazing but they take a lot of energy and he no longer has the ability to keep going at that pace.

An amateur wrestler as accomplished as him is still very technical even if he relies a lot on athleticism.

fuck I could stuff brocks takedown, all you need is double underhooks.... :)

It really sucks that we'll never know what would have become of Brock had he gone into MMA instead of show wrestling. He has some unmatched physical attributes, and if actually had learned to strike, who knows. But it's all conjecture. Maybe striking would never have been in him.

Umm plenty would destroy him. Yes he is brutally strong and has good wrestling but give him a fighter who can stop all take downs like dos or overeem or stipe or cain or even roy. Come on man he would never get to the top again. Him and the ufc chose hunt for one reason other then he was available. Lets not forget about brock being able to do some roids up until a month before the fight. Not fair at all. Lets see if he can beat hunt while being tested like the other fighters get tested.

What gives him great powerful take downs also hinders his striking.

He is a pure NCAA wrestler, from the takedowns, the top riding and pinning, that looked like a college wrestling match with punches to the face.
Being a white Donkey Kong obviously help.
