    This was just announced:
    http://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/...a-fight-kelvin-gastelum-interim-title-ufc-236

Now here's an updated timeline of the UFC Middleweight championship since the last successful title defense.

    • July 8, 2017: Robert Whittaker defeats Yoel Romero at UFC 213 to become the Interim Middleweight Champion.
    • November 4, 2017: Georges St-Pierre defeats Michael Bisping at UFC 217 to become Middleweight Champion.
    • December 7, 2017: Georges St-Pierre vacates the Middleweight championship, Robert Whittaker promoted to Undisputed Middleweight Champion.
    • June 9, 2018: Yoel Romero misses weight, championship fight with Robert Whittaker at UFC 225 changed to 5 round non-title fight for Romero.
    • February 9, 2019: Robert Whittaker pulls out of title fight with Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 234 last minute due to a hernia.
    • February 19, 2019: Kelvin Gastelum vs. Israel Adesanya scheduled for UFC 236 for the Interim Middleweight title.

Rockhold this is all your fucking fault. Bisping you sucked as a champion.

LHW is the bigger shitshow. But you aren't wrong, MW is a mess right now also. It's funny that HW is now a more exciting division than LHW.

The Bisping vs Hendo/GSP farces screwed over the MW division.

    The good old days.

Can't blame Rockhold for losing. Whittaker can't even make it to the octagon anymore.

At least with LHW we have an undisputed champion who's defending the belt. The last time the Middleweight belt was defended was in 2016.

Fuck it though man it’s the price we pay to watch these fights

At least we wait for fight of the year candidates. GSP vs Bisping was a great fight and Yoel vs Whittaker 2 was one of the best fights ever

Whatever, as long as i get to see these top 10 guys fight each other im fine with it.

The most interesting thing about the division right now is how these matchups would go between them. They are all really good, so whatever lineage belt bullshit there is, its not an ultimate deal breaker. A bunch of matchups there are belt worthy fights

Bisping was a better champion than Rockhold. Come at me bro.

Can’t even blame Bisping. Romero was supposed to be in line to fight Rockhold but was too busy taking “tainted supplements”. Then Weidman pulled out due to injury and Jacare didn’t step in because he was injured too.

    MW has nothing on LW

    • Conor McGregor beats Eddie 12th Nov 2016
    • Tony beats Lee for the interin title 7th October 2017
    • Conor and Tony stripped 7th April 2018.
    • Khabib beats Al A7th April 2018 after Tony/Max/the bus
    • Khabib beats Conor 6th October 2018 and then they both get suspended for 9 and 6 months.

AS screwed the MW div by trying to walk off on Bisping instead of trying to land follow up shots

Bisping's only "title defense" was against a 45 year old Dan Henderson. He then proceeds to duck top contenders, specifically Romero for a whole year until getting a money fight against 4 year layoff Georges St-Pierre. At least Rockhold was gonna defend the belt against the top competition, Bisping was just looking for retirement fights and then completely fucked over the Middleweight division.

WW is fucking terrible. It’s Tyron Woodley and everyone else and by everyone else it’s the same tired names that round out the top 5. Colby, Usman, Till, Thompson, RDA.

RDA looks done, Thompson is getting up there in age, Till is mediocre, nobody cares about Usman and Colby. Woodley doesn’t look or fight his age but it’ll catch up all of a sudden.

There’s no exciting surefire young proscpects on the horizon. Losing Erick Silva was a major blow.

Lack of talent everywhere, oh noes...And people whine about wmma.
Also you forgot about Romero/Rockhold for interim belt, when Whittaker decided to be injured again, Romero won, but missed weight...

Lol- Luke Rockhold will go down in the history books of " the ultimate dropping of the ball"- not just because of getting ko-ed by Bisping but the domino effect of Bisping ruining the once talent rich 185 division FOR YEARS.
