It's silly to me why it isn't allowed. Jorge running across the cage and jump kneeing someone leaning forward is far more dangerous.

This rule change could legit turn the majority of the boring fighters into exciting monsters! Perfect example, the monster, Kevin Randleman.

Bring knees on the ground back

You can knee on the ground. Just not to the head, right?

Might aswell...I mean elbows are allowed so why not knees? both just as dangerous, elbows probably even edges it in terms of dangerous

Kneeing someone on the head might be harder though on the ground...so pointless to allow it anyway maybe hmm

i feel knees generate far more power than elbows. Usually legs are muscualat and have heavy bones

Well generally I agree with your point.

Any fight-ending technique should be allowed. If an opponent can't defend against it then the fight ends.

Right now the rules change the way you fight and defend yourself from how you would if they weren't in place. That isn't really what this sport is about. It's about seeing who's the best at 1v1 unarmed combat in a confined area. Setting rules in place that artificially extend the fight ARGUABLY exposes the fighter to more damage than they would have seen eating that fight-ending knee on the ground (or god forbid a 12-6 elbow, those deadly ass things).

That all said, strikes to the back of the head can kill or paralyze a man so they are rightly banned... but fighters even abuse that by tucking their head so it is the only place their opponent can strike... Its tough to draw a line. They drew it in a weird spot but the rules arent THAT bad.

I've said this for years. Its a terrible, terrible rule that creates fake grappling exchanges. It lets guys get way too comfortable when they should be in absolute danger.

One of the few rules that they shouldn't have banned.

This and stomps are banned only to favor ground artists.

They're already risking that just like boxers, foot ball players and so on and so forth.

We will see a lot of "last fights" for the players. Although knees bring a lot of fireworks for FANs sake, but they also bring a lot of brute injuries to the FIGHTERS.

I don't think its good or bad for wrestlers, it just adds more urgency for the person shooting and being shot on to not take certain positions for granted because of a shitty rule taking away one of the best weapons when grappling.

I used to die inside seeing someone put a hand on the ground to be a 'downed opponent'. Why did they do that? Because knees to the head are effective and say I'm a wrestler hell bent on getting the fight to the ground... well if I can shoot without fearing getting it stuffed and a knee to the face I'm more likely to just keep spamming shots and if they don't work oh well the worst thing that's going to happen is a guillotine attempt or they pull guard. But if you shoot and fail you should immediately be in danger of eating knees and its not the case. Its dumb.

Not because one is risking it justify amplifying the risk

Knees to the head of a ground opponent wouldn't amplify CTE in MMA anymore than anything else than happens in the sport.
