I remember a random qote from Dana White regarding the Heavyweights during the dark ages.

How bad it was, and it was Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski knocking each other out every other weekend.
Wierd thing is Arlovski now is a contender.

How much have the Ufc Heavyweight class really evolved when the current champion have knocked out the same two guys the last four years.
Have the Ufc heavys always been notoriously bad, and what can they do to bring some life to thw class?

all they need to do is lift the 265 limit and the fatties will save the day.

The Ufc is all about freakshow fights with the new Cm punk signing, if they break the limit Jds can fight pride-zulu type of fighters. Would do miracles for the PPW

The athletes that size are playing more popular sports and where they make more moolah and take less physical damage

Theyve had big athletic guys, just not as many as the nfl due to what you mentioned.

I don't see it changing much even as MMA gets more popular. A dominant marketable heavyweight champ would make so much money. If Floyd was 6'5 and talked like Ali? Forget about it.

Fact is most people just don't enjoy getting hit. My home gym has one of the best fighters on the planet and I frequently go to high profile gyms to train and I see it time and time again. Big ass guys (college, nba, nfl) walk in and when you put hands on them they go home and never show up again.

It's really a shame Timmeh retired, with his longtime costar being a contender...
