We are down to two superstars Conor and Ronda and one sidelined, jon jones. Who are the potential superstars?. Are they amongst us?. Who will take up the mantle from Anderson and George's st Pierre?.

Chris weidman has potential if he keeps winning, and moves up.

Aldo should be a superstar if he was more flashy out of the ring, and spoke English.

Pettis had potential till he got his ass whooped.

Page Vanzant and JoJo probably. Conor still isn't at Ronda level yet, infact the majority of people who know about the UFC basically only know Ronda, Conor is mostly known by casual fans and the irish community. Go on the street and ask someone who Mcgregor is and than ask who Ronda is.

Conor and Ronda have taken up the mantle. The UFC has only ever had 1 or 2 big PPV stars who are capable of selling PPV's on their own at a time. A lot of the bigger UFC PPV's were built on rivalries rather than just single fighters (Chuck/Tito, Rampage/Rashad, Silva/Sonnen, Jones/Rashad). UFC 189 was sold on Conor McGregor and his rise, not the Conor vs Chad fight specifically. That's what makes the Conor/Aldo fight so big; a big star in a big rivalry. The same is true with Ronda and UFC 190; it was the Ronda show, not the Ronda/Bethe show.

....how about guys that can fight at a high level?

Does that matter to the likes of you anymore?

Or is it just the flash and dazzle that interests you and the sport should drop this silly ranking system and all.....

Yah, and its always been like this. Early 2000s it was Tito, mid 2000s we had chuck and randy, later 2000's and early 10s was Lesnar, GSP and Anderson

CM Punk punches like a tired, confused old man who has never punched before, which makes sense, I guess

Robbie has potential. Even though they're inactive we still have Anderson/GSP/Jones. Also Urijah Faber

I imagine Werdum must be a household name in Brazil by now. Undisputed Heavyweight Champion, flag bearer for BJJ and multiple time World Champ, tapped Fedor. The guy's done it all and seems like a cool dude too. He should be world famous by now.
