When the UFC was filled with more "fighters first / athletes second" and was less lucrative, is it fair to say injuries were less because they weren't overworking and overtraining to get that absolute edge ?
Guys like Chuck and Tito were the best in their eras, but injuries weren't as prevalent because I don't feel these guys trained as intensely as today's high level athletes who fight for a procession.
These injuries, extreme weight cuts, and extreme training are a result of the UFC going mainstream and attracting athletes over fighters.
