The UFC fight purses are pathetic...

You do know that any injury sustained during a fight is covered by the promotions insurance right? Hell that even happens in AMATEUR fights.

One day things will be different.

Sadly this is still the dark ages of MMA fighter pay.

Has any breakdown of the UFC's overhead ever been released/leaked?
-venue rental
-legal fees
--marketing costs
-employee compensation (non-fighters)
-fighter compensation
-PED testing
-debt servicing
Etc. Etc.

How do these associated costs compare to revenue streams?

What is the percentage of fighter pay compared to gross profit?

It's been reported the UFC pays about 15% to 20% to the fighters. What your asking above has never been released and probably never will to that extent.

As the UFC's revenue has gone up so has fighter pay. People want to laugh at these paydays, go look at a card from 2008 and see what you see. Everyone wants instant gratification but the truth is its trickles down slowly in business. Plus I would say there is very high chance the co and main event guys got some nice money behind the scenes especially after those performances. No matter what fans will still cry about pay so who knows. In sports its either they aren't making enough or damn that's a lot of money for playing a sport, insane.

The only way the fighters will ever see decent gains in pay is to form an association/union. But these yahoos can't even sign up anonymously for Project Spearhead. 30%(about 150 fighters) is all they need to at least figure out if they are independent contractors or employees.

Why compare to boxing? Boxing gets WAYYY more viewers and PPV buys.

Interesting to see a comparison between the biggest UFC card ever, and the biggest boxing match ever.

Night and day id guess.
