Not sure I like lineal title changing hands on a DQ.....even if lineal title in this context is meaningless.....

That's pretty neat. IIRC the UFC tried to get Anderson Silva to fight Hughes but they couldn't so they settled for Sakurai.

Ryan Bader currently holds that title if you apply the lineal rules.

Didn't Bader lose to Vadim Nemkov though?

He vacated it after the Hendricks fight, so you could either say it's vacant or when the UFC crowned a new welterweight champion it started up again then (with Hendricks).

Yeah, it should be Nemkov. Holding the same title as his mentor Fedor held after beating Ishii for it.

I don't think lineal titles transfer across weight classes.

Wasn't Super Hulk openweight though? That would make Nemkov eligible, imo.

This is controversial since the rumble on the rock fights were at 175!!!!

I actually incorrectly traced the title; the most recent holder of that particular title that I can figure is Oli Thompson (depends on which of his losses were at Openweight following his win over Chris Barnett).

Ikuhisa Minowa -> Shinichi Suzukaw -> Chris Barnett -> Oli Thompson -> ???

As far as the original topic is concerned with the lineal welterweight title, all the fights I listed took place at welterweight.

I was remembering the Rumble on the Rock fights as being Middleweight but as this fine gentleman says:
