Ronda Rousey returns to competition this Friday at UFC 207 to take on the current UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. For the first time in her MMA career, Ronda Rousey (-140) will not be entering the cage as a sizable favorite, as her moneyline has been steadily heading in the direction of underdog odds, from her much larger opening line of up to -320. On the other hand, the dough has been flowing in on Amanda Nunes (+120) as her moneyline is approaching even odds from her opening line of up to +220.

The bulk of the UFC 207 card involves relatively tight lines, with TJ Dillashaw @ -240 as the fattest favorite and his bantamweight counterpart John Lineker @ +200 as the largest dog. Check out the UFC 207: Nunes vs. Rousey betting odds, courtesy of OddsShark.com:

Why people care about betting odds are beyond me. Betting is dumb, betters are idiots.

I think I'm gonna put some money on Nunes. Those are good odds.

I don't know man, I've seen some CRAZY odds (like -1200).

Can't say I blame ANYONE for dropping a lil cheese on something like that.

Lol Nobody believes in Hendricks or his wife.

Betting odds usually reflect the results unless you have a bullshit hype train or prejudice i.e. Conor, Ronda, Mayhem Miller vs Bisping.

-1200 means you'd have to bet $1200 to make a $100 profit. That's terrible odds.

+1200 means if you bet $100, you make $1200 profit. Those are great odds - if you win.

The entire financial sector of this country is based of betting. Betting that stocks go up or down. That companies do good or fail. That the peanut harvest in 2025 is worth the amount of money your paying for it in 2016. (That called futures). Maybe it is. Maybe it's worth more. Or maybe a hurricane wipes out the majority peanut crops like what happened in 2011.

I once worked for a guy that worked at the Chicago stock exchange and he said 2 things I'll never forget.

1. The stock exchange is a giant casino but if they called it a casino no one would give people their money to invest (gamble) with.

2. No one makes a million dollars without someone losing a million dollars. Volatility in the market is what causes people to earn or lose money.

Yup, I remember when I found out that Gus was like + million against Jones. I was like "Fuck, why didn't I bet?? Those fools don't know shit, Gus is a tall, bla bla bla". Well... that's all nice but Gus lost, on paper, so I would have lost money too, good that I didn't bet :) I would have been furious with the scorecard.

I wanted to bet recently, a house on JJ vs Kowalkiewicz. Yeah, she won, but man, that 1 punch Karolina connected with, I'm telling you, the nerves would fucking eat me inside out. It's good that I haven't bet on that one even though JJ won.

However, betting small amounts (like 3 dollars) on the whole card I find interesting. You can win pretty big with so little to lose. Yeah, most likely you will lose since it's a parlay of 10 fights let's say, but hey, if you win once a year, it would still be worth it. And you have an additional adrenaline watching fights. And every fucking fight interests you :) And even if you lose all bets during the year, how much do you really lose? 100$? I work, my mom doesn't give me monthly pocket money anymore, I can live with losing 100$ a year in return of some excitement and a real chance that I may get lucky.

Neither of these are true.

The stock market goes up over time. So the only losers in this kind of "gambling" (i.e., investing) are those who don't gamble (i.e., invest).

Of course one can gamble poorly and lose money, but unlike gambling in the casinos, that's not the way one has to go about it.

And as for your friend's second proposition, people make money all the time without corresponding risk.

Nunes was +300 when the fight was announced. That was good odds. Now at 50/50 who knows what happens. I think nunes knocks Ronda the fuck out but I wouldn't be surprised to see Ronda hip toss her and put her in an armbar.

All said is you don't know what you talking about.

Keep hoping and keep gambling (rather than investing), and maybe your dreams will come true.

Some people win the lottery and when they do they think it's because they're smart. You sound like that kind of guy.

Somebody smash some cash on dhk please

I see it going his way pretty easy
