Hey guys, another one of my threads.
This thread is just for giggles really, something completely different to have a look at, that you may find interesting; transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox actually inspired me to make this thread.
As I always state, this list isn’t going to be perfect, so I always encourage people to make their own top ten-twenty lists with their own research. This is the best I came up with, with my own knowledge and as you know, I am very involved with animals. Please do not take these lists so seriously and just enjoy them for what they are, considering they are just meant to be a bit of fun. With what I’ve studied over the years, I always want to show everyone my own research so it’s all in good nature.
Many animals show homosexual behaviors (goats, lions, ravens, bearded dragons, ducks etc.), but they didn’t make the list. These fifteen animals have the highest incidence of homosexual activities among all animals. Again, if you know of an animal you feel should have made the list, please share.
Now the term homosexual might be used a bit loosely here. Question is why do animals indulge in homosexuality? Well, it seems there are many reasons. In tribal animals, homosexuality sometimes takes on a social role - occupying unwanted males or bonding male members of the pack. Another reason is to show sign of dominance. In other species, the reasons are less clear.
The Top 15 World’s Most Homosexual Animals (Humans excluded)
15. Grey Whales
In “slip-and-slide” orgies, groups of male grey whales, one of the oldest species of mammals, roll in the ocean rubbing their bellies against each other so that their genitals are touching.
14. Uganda Kob
The males are 100% straight but around 10% of the females are homosexual. The female kobs perform oral sex on each other and even stroke each other's vulvas with their forelegs, a couple of times an hour during mating season.
13. Dragonfly
Male homosexuality has been inferred in several species of dragonflies.
12. Western Gulls
Studies have shown that 10 to 15 percent of female western gulls in some populations in the wild exhibit homosexual behavior.
11. Guianan-C o c k-of-the-Rock
40% of male Guianan-C o c k-of-the-Rocks engage in some form of homosexuality sexual activity.
