EXCLUSIVE: The return of Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard was the first official series of the Trekverse expansion, and it looks like another Starfleet captain could be talking the helm in her own show too.
the end of Season 1. Still in the early planning stages, the spinoff looks likely to focus on a continuation of her DiscoverySeason 2 adventures in Starfleet’s Section 31 division. The semi-secret and autonomous organization has been a part of Trek lore since it was first introduced in the 1990s on the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine series.
There is a natural momentum here as Yeoh’s once Captain Philippa Georgiou is already set to return to Discovery in Season 2 after leaping off into the final frontier at the end of Season 1. A CBS spokesperson declined comment when contacted by Deadline about the status of any Yeoh-led spinoff. When the Alex Kurtzman-run expansion was first announced in June, a Georgiou series was one that Deadline postulated.

Yet, with those seeds planted for a Yeoh-led spinoff, the series is one of several ideas being pursued by Discovery EP Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout and David Stapf’s CBS TV Studios for the multi-project, multi-year Trekverse expansion, sources say. “My goal is that there should be a Star Trek something on all the time on All Access,” Stapf told Deadline in August.
In this particular case, a major factor is Yeoh’s own packed dance card. With projects including a not-yet-officially-greenlighted Crazy Rich Asians sequel and the overall deal and recent formation of her own production shingle with SK Global Entertainment, the actor’s availability could be limited for a commitment of a series lead.

If the Georgiou series were to make to the cut, it would join the now well-established Discovery and the upcoming and untitled Picard series. The Trekverse expansion also already includes the recently announced half-hour adult animated comedy series Star Trek: Below Decks and the now-showing Star Trek: Short Treks.
So, crank up the warp drive, Captain on deck.

I think this rumor is unlikely. Shes been getting alot of buzz about being nominated for a academy award this year, and is already set to do crazy rich Asians 2.Not what I want tbh.

I could see a more broad section 31 spy thriller type series. Not enough established yet, about her in the prime timeline yet.At the same time, there would be no rush given the two series in pre-production.
I've been on the lookout for the various trek beers, but have yet to find themThere's also this Scotty Scotch on presale:

CBS: Picard STAR TREK Series Aiming for Late 2019 Debut
Today at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference, newly-minted CBS chief creative officer David Nevins spoke to investors on a number of topics concerning the television studio — ranging from programming inquiries about their Showtime cable network to the growth of CBS All Access in 2019 — and he shared a few thoughts on the status of the expanding modern Star Trekfranchise.
The executive spoke about how putting Discovery (and the announced subsequent shows, Star Trek: Lower Decks and the still-unnamed Picard series) on the CBS All Access streaming platform was a “brand-defining decision,” leading the OTT service to a slate of “mainstream but upbeat, positive sci-fi.”
When asked about how CBS All Access subscriber growth will be targeted for expansion as the service moves into 2019, Nevins mentioned a number of the planned shows coming next year (including Jordan Peele’s new take on The Twilight Zone), and the next round of Star Trekprogramming became part of the conversation.
‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season 2, in January, is in a great place. There’s huge anticipation for ‘Picard’ — that’s one of the most-loved ‘Star Trek’ characters of all time, [played by] Patrick Stewart. That’ll be at the end of the year [2019], so there will be something [on the schedule] there.
And then we’re doing these short films [‘Short Treks’] in between.
While series producers Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin indicated that full production on the Picard series would kick off next spring, this comment from Nevins is the first clear window for the arrival of the Picard series that’s come from CBS’s leadership.
Unfortunately, the topic of Star Trek: Lower Decks didn’t surface during the 40-minute presentation, perhaps indicating that the upcoming animated series is on a much longer pre-production path than the Picard series, which has had an operating writers room for a few months now.
They have a solid team in place, I think it should be filming by late spring. Discovery and all access was a mess for season one. There have been no issues since Kurtzman has taken over it seemsWondering whether he unveiled the series title there or whether that is just the working title.
Also hoping they have a realistic target this time around. We waited for Discovery like forever.
Just let McFarlen make a TNG era show at this point....Also, my body is ready for The Orville season 2:

Longer episodes, lots of more Trek veterans, more action, more Sci-Fi with the comedy as garnish, this is gonna be awesome.
