The Standford Prison Experiment

    I just found out about this study cause a movie is getting ready to come out and man this was some crazy shit that went down. They took a group of "Good" People and put them in a "Evil" Place to see what happen.

    Like I said I just heard of this and still looking the info but this was one crazy study.

    I never would have even entertained the thought of watching it because the cover looks so cheesy. It sounds interesting though, and I may just watch it now.

    Agreed. It's a really good movie for me as well. I never really take a notice at Whitaker before this movie. But damn he is good in this film.

    The BBC conducted a similar experiment about 12 years ago, and ended up shutting it down early. Can't remember the details, but it was an eye opening documentary. There may have been slightly more engineering of the situation going on than in Stanford, as they'd recruited a lot of ex-cons and aggressive sociopaths to make up the prisoner numbers.

    Was called The Experiment and it screened in 2002. Not sure if it's on YouTube, but if anyone's interested, it's worth tracking down.

    Thanks. I found the Wiki on it and it says that the Gaurds in there study did Not take the role as serious as in the Standford study. I curios to why.
