In a lot of close fights one big move can change the face of the fight. Gus was winning the fourth round big but that JJ elbow towards the end changed everything and Gus essentially gave the fight away right then and there. If that elbow didnt land or rock Gustafsson we would be having a new champ. Just my 2 cents. In a rematch I would say the odds would be somewhat closer then -900 and +600 but that is just my opinion

Even tho I like Gus more , I have to agree with this. He threw that elbow with intention to hurt him...

One more cool thing was Gus throwing spinning elbow in 5th round...

I agree, I had Gus winning the fourth round before that elbow landed. I'm just amazed Gus made it out of that round with that onslaught from Jones in the end. A big fan of Gus but I agree with the decision 48-47, I think that the fourth round was the gamewinner for Jones. I had Gus winning round 1 and 3, had he won the fourth and made it out of the fifth we would have a new champion.

That elbow changed the round 4, and the outcome of the fight.

The odds were off for this fight, but they will probably also be off for the next when they will be a lot closer. Jones didn't really fight optimally, and threw a lot less spinning shit etc than usual. Next time around I bet he will focus on his wrestling and being unpredictable again. "fights as usual Jones". ;)

The elbow and following offense greatly affected round 5 as well. Gustafsson was clearly winning round 4 up to that point and would probably been less fatigued in round 5.

I thought the round 4 was a 10-10, or a slight edge to Gus.

But yes Jones likely would have very well lost without landing the elbow.

It was a major turning point in the fight. Gus I thought had won most of that round, but Jones' flurry there earned him the round. He really laid it on Gus there.

Very well timed elbow. Thought that was Jones' best moment of the fight.

Jones threw that elbow five or six times. There was no timing or aim. It was a hail mary because he was losing everywhere else on the feet. Gustaffson just happened to duck into that one.

Only according to one (retarded) judge. The other two scored it 48-47. So had that massive elbow not landed he probably would have lost.

That elbow was so powerful, it changed the scorecards for the prior rounds.

Ya that was a pretty key moment. Gus did well to pace his aggression throughout each round before that so it seemed like he could steal round 4 until that elbow collided with his face.

That round pretty much clinched it for Jones imo.

No doubt. A couple of those elbows didn't land flush but that one was right on the money. Had he not hurt Gus with that we would probably have new champion.

I agree, Gustafsson was on his way to win the fight till he got caught by that elbow to the forehead. Looked like he got a nasty concussion from that, he was in zombi mode after that, such a shame. Legendary fight though, one of my all time favorite.
