Here's what Chael basically said:

  • Remove the fighter from the card
  • Take their purse and give it to their opponent
  • If possible, up it to a DQ
In all honesty, no trolling or joking, this could actually work. It would discourage fighters from missing weight and give them that discipline and motivation needed to make the weight cut.

What do you guys think? Sorry if this thread has been done before on Chael's video, but in light of Darren Till missing weight I felt it was very appropriate.

Till needs to man up and start believing in his skillset and move up to mw. I could understand if he made the weight like everyone else and is a big guy when he walks around but its his 2nd time missing weight in his last 4 fights..

I agree with this in theory....

But imagine if they removed Till from the card. The entire card was literally built around him and that fight. If they pulled Till that card would have been an ungodly disaster. Literally zero people would have watched and everyone who bought tickets to the event would have been PISSED.

Crazy how many solutions for being over the weight limit have popped up since the Till debacle.

I doubt the UFC wants to hand over a fighters purse if they are removed from the card and do not compete. I say make the fight in the event the opponent wants the fight, then fine them 75% of their purse and give it to the opponent. I bet the overweight fighter learns a valuable lesson.

Make it so the overweight fighter can only be given a No-Contest (if he wins) or a loss if he loses.
