Inside two years, Johny Hendricks has risen as high as "almost beating GSP", winning the belt in his next fight and defending it to the edge of being cut. Face it people, Big Rigg has a good chance of getting cut if he doesn't win this one: not one exciting fight since GSP, missed weight on multiple occasions and got destroyed in his last fight. Even if he's not cut, his future is not looking great. When you call quit on your weight cut half a pound close to the limit (multiple times, again), you either don't have functioning livers anymore or you just don't have the mental strength.
Especially when you're on the spot: we all know Johny's weight problems. Hell, he got deported to middle weight already but Dana gave him one last chance: "OK Johny, I won't force you up but don't miss weight again, please!" What happens? After rebuilding his nutrition team (guy is so far gone, he needs a team), he (once again) swore to make weight, said to whoever would listen that this would be his easiest cut and even bragged on his weight during fight week.
Also, Johny is far too small to fight MW. No way he could hang with monsters like Rockhold, Romero or even The Chris. They would dwarf him and his power would not translate well against these beasts. Sure he can go to Bellator to fight old geezers and upcoming young lads but I don't see him doing well there, especially at MW where size can keep his skills in check.
My prediction? Johny will retire before 2016 ends.
