    Ive seen a couple of spikes in the UFC, I have never seen a ref call one and it's not like its subtle lol. Apparently when the spikee(guy getting spiked) tucks his head at the last second (you know so he doesnt break his fuckin neck) thats what makes it legal.

    In my limited understanding of the rules. A head spike is legal if the person is who is getting spiked has control of the postion. The simplest example that being a triangle from guard and then your opponent escaping by dumping you on your head. Because you could have let go of the triangle.

    This one is a bit more difficult for me to call but it does like he could have bailed on the postion before the dump.
