The fact that marketable champions gets extra favor over other fighters - that shows its truly not ''fair'' and ''equal'' treatment for all players/fighters.

Anderson Silva gets KO'd in a fairly non competitive fight - instant rematch

GSP gets KO'd in a fairly competitive match - instant rematch

BJ loses close decision in a super competitive match - instant rematch

Alexander loses close decision in a super competitive match - no rematch

One can argue that its fair because Champions should receive the benefit of the doubt and another chance, but if so stop complaining when we aren't looked at as a high level sanctioned sport!

People are still failing to realize that this organization and its decision's revolve around money.

The mainstream doesn't give a fuck about fair , it about entertainment and what makes money

The fights that the fans want to see are the fights that happen, thus more eyeballs on the fight, thus more money for the UFC. I don't get your point. If the "mainstream" was willing to pay $60 to watch Fighter A vs Fighter B then that is the fight the UFC will make.

What other combat sports do you follow closely TS?

A. In sports like this, i.e. boxing, champions get benefits like rematches and all that kind of shit.

B. Weidman/Silva was competitive.

C. GSP/Serra did not result in an immediate rematch. He fought Kos before stepping in to fight Hughes for the interim title, and only after that did he rematch Serra.

D. Yeah, cause BJ got robbed.

E. Gus isn't a champ, and there was already another guy waiting in line. All Gus has to do is win and he'll get his rematch.

Actually GSP did NOT get an immediate rematch against Matt Serra, he had to earn it by beating Josh Koscheck the first time

Then the NBA isn't legit either.

And the UFC has been a legit mainstream sports competition for some time now. It's over. This discussion is done and in the trash can.

Are you even a fan of any of the big mainstream sports?

Every NBA star gets favorable foul calls & gets more leniet treament with fouls called on them compared to everyone else. This is common knowledge to the point that even people on the NBA's own channel NBA TV, former players, coaches, commentatora just casualy joke about. Rating and popualrity goes up every year.

They change the rules to favor & protect QB's in the NFL. And to provide for more offense and scoring. Again this is common knowledge to the point that people joke about it. Ratings & popularity goes up every year.

Stars in any sport get special favorable treatment for legal troubles. True in NCAA football and basketball too. While bench players and others might be cut/kicked of theteam or out of league for same offenses.

The reason combat sports will never be mainstream is because fighters only have a window of 5-7 years and that is the all time greats. You can root for a team your whole life. In addition teams mean so much to their communities and that is something that combat sports can never replicate.

Jones vs Gus will sell a chit ton more PPVs and fill a larger stadium than Jones vs Glover.

I love Glover
