The 'real' reason why Gaethje hasn't signed for a fight yet according to a channel.

This is why Dana has to keep guys hungry & pay them low so they fight multiple times a year. ;)

You are right. A fighter who gets paid a lot for a fight doesn't want to go back.
Poirier will never fight Oliveira for his contract.
If Dana really wants Poirier to fight Oliveira he has to offer him a lot more than his contract.
He has to pay Poirier PPV points.
Poirier learned this from his team mate Masvidal.
I like Poirier but for me it's clear now. He was always crying about the belt.
But it turns out that it's not really about the belt. The belt only gives you more money in his mind. But now he is in a position that he can make more money without a belt he doesn't care about the belt.
Poirier got paid millions and can wait a year. He can fake a hip injury and tell everyone that he is out for 10 months.
If I was his manager and had to serve his interest i would advise him to wait.

He doesn't have the physical belt but everyone already considers him the real champion right now without a belt.
He can wait a year and fight Conrat.
If Conrat after a year doesn't come back je would still be the number 1 contender. He won't loose the spot.
He can heal his body, train and spend time with his family instead of fighting for 800k
for a belt.
Abdelaziz is a smart man.

Not a good plan but could end up working. If dustin ends up taking that diaz fight instead gaethje could get a free shot at the title

The Diaz fight is risky.
Poirier will win for 95%.
But if he looses to Diaz then Conrat will fight Diaz. If Diaz takes away the shine of Poirier there will be a huge interest for Conrat Diaz 3.

Gaethje is terrified of this beautiful hunk of steel. He knows his title days are OVER.

Chandler via sub round 1.

Dana runs a 3 Ring Circus style model -- So, if Dustin wants to stay in the Money Ring or Contender Ring, then let Gaethje fight in the Champ Ring and keep the line moving.

I have no problem with recognizing Oliveira as the Champ with his win over Chandler even though that was a less than ideal opponent (irrelevant conversation at this point). It comes down to other fighters now proving they can beat Oliveira in a fight -- not on paper or oddsmakers or trash talk social media.

Dustin is going to make a fortune beating Conor over and over again until one of them retires

The reason why Gaethje hasn't signed a fight with Chandler yet is because of his manager Abdelaziz (according to a channel).
As long as the fight between Poirier and Oliveira is not signed Gaethje won't sign for a fight.
Abdelaziz might be thinking that Poirier will not sign a fight with Oliveira and wait for Conor. This makes Gaethje the next in line against Chandler.
If Poirier accepts a fight with Charles and wins the fight with Conrat is gone.
You can't let Conrat fight for a belt after 3 losses in the LW.
Poirier will make 10 times more money with Conrat.
The smartest move for Poirier is to fake a hip injury and wait for Conrat.
Why should he fight for less than a million against Charles while he can wait for Conrat and make 10 million?

Poirier’s gonna fight Olives, even if he loses to Olives the Conrat fight is still on the table for him due to the beef.

I mean, it sounds like bullshit, but it's definitely possible. If Dustin doesn't challenge, he can get in. If Dustin does go for the title, Gaethje and Chandler are big enough right now that beating Chandler could make him next. And the fact there are TWO up and comers in Beneil and Islam, that means even if Justin can't get a shot by waiting AND Chandler gets booked with someone, Justin will have an option with whoever's left.

If that is his strat, that's pretty shitty. And I hope karma makes it so that Dustin challenges Charles and Chandler fights Dariush, leaving poor ol Justin gasping like a fish under Islam.

That's funny af and proves most of my comments about women.
Man, this is such a sad comment.

Sorry but this sounds kind of stupid...

Best for Poirier, he fights Charles and wins the Belt, mcconor comes backs and wants Poirier.
Poirier accept the fight in a catchweight, Not for the belt and still gets the money fight...

Doesn't make sense because Conor will not be fighting for a year. Surely, Dustin is not going to wait that long.

This actually makes sense.

Fuck Dana for not scheduling Olivera to fight right NOW !

Olivera has always been a busy fighter and was ready to schedule a defense right away.

If Dustin is not available to challenge because he wants to take a vacation or rest up after his two Conor camps, or wait a fucking year for Conor's titanium leg to heal? Fine... Than pick another challenger and let the Champion Olivera defend.

Holding up the division is totally on the UFC.

All these great fighters at 155 would be tearing each other to pieces for our entertainment if Dana would only allow the Champion to regularly defend.

Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat Conrat...

LOL at Poirier waiting for minimum six months to one year just for a fourth fight against Conrat...

Dustin will take the Charles fight because he knows no matter what the UFC wants that 4th match at some point.

Any plan that involves waiting for Conor to return to MMA is misguided. His future is in celebrity boxing.

Because Conor may never fight again. The 4th fight against Conor can happen later. It doesn't have to be Poirier's next fight. He could win 10 more or lose 10 more, doesn't matter for Dustin. It matters for Conor. He has to be Conor's next fight.

Not if Dustin has the belt. Dustin's best route would be Nate then Conor.
